Ephesians 5:25-26 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word.
For
the Godly man blessed with fatherhood, there should be a sacrificial love in
our dedication and devotion to God’s purpose for our lives. As godly fathers,
we must surrender ourselves to our wives and family. Paul cites an example in
his letter to the Church at Ephesus, which is Christ Jesus. He sacrificed
Himself to suffer and die on the Cross of Calvary so that all His children
could know freedom from sin and death and gain eternal life. Jesus’ purpose in
His sacrifice was to make us acceptable in the sight of God. As earthly
fathers, we are to surrender our rights to bless and love our wives, families,
and all people God places in our lives. Jesus is the example we are to follow,
who gave up everything to satisfy a sin debt before God that we could never
placate. We are to follow His example, surrendering our rights to bless and
love our wives, families, and all we encounter. The Apostle Paul reminds us to
submit ourselves to each other in reverence to our Lord and Savior, Christ
Jesus (Ephesians 5:21).
God
assigned the Husband’s role in marriage to parallel Christ’s love for the
Church; His love seeks the highest good for all people. The person that
possesses Biblical love, or Christ’s love, does not love others because they
are worthy of our love. Biblical love stems from one with a capacity for love,
not because of the object of love. This direction from God means that as
husbands, we should love our wives, family, and others whether they deserve it
or not. True Godly love of a Husband indicates the act of cherishing, which
means to value. With this level of love, the Godly Husband will place his wife,
family, and others above himself, his life’s work, his friends, his hobbies,
and all else. Furthermore, husbands and all children of God should communicate
this love to those around us; in other words, it must be a lifestyle.

positional, consecrated, and restored.
As Parents and Grandparents, none of us know how much time we have left with our children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, families, and friends. We may only have a year, two years, five years, ten years, twenty years, who knows? Only God knows! The question that lingers before us today is, are we using our time wisely? Are we encouraging our families, friends, church brothers, and sisters at every opportunity and setting a Godly example for our children, grandchildren, and some of us, our great-grandchildren?
May you have a wonderful and blessed Father’s Day, to all fathers, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers.
