Philippians 2:14-16 Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.
This verse of Scripture begins
with a direct command from God to all His children to eliminate grumbling and
arguing from all interactions with others. Some contend that God only spoke
about communication between a Child of God and other brothers and sisters in Christ
Jesus. However, when we communicate with someone who is not saved and does not
know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, our demeanor could draw them into Christ
or drive them away from Christ. Consequently, as crucial as our interaction
with fellow Christians can be, how we approach the lost souls of this world
could alter their final destination in this life.
We should guard our testimony
carefully as followers and believers in Christ Jesus. We must always strive to
represent Jesus and His saving grace to this lost, dark, and dying world.
Before our testimony can be effective, we must set any fractured relationships
straight. We should never send mixed signals in interaction with saved people
or those that do not know Christ.
The values of God are genuine
and consequential freedom from a mixture of the life surrendered to Jesus and
the life of the flesh and will broadcast a consistent signal to those who do
not know Christ as their Lord and Savior. Our actions are usually deemed by how
we see ourselves; if we see ourselves as one of God’s children, we can
anticipate how our identity reflects who we are. We must always keep in our
minds and focus that all we do and are reflects on our King Jesus, the Lord of
glory. We must maintain our interactions with all others, lost and saved alike,
knowing that we are a child of God and his ambassadors in this life. We must
also remember that there is crucial work for God that we need to accomplish and
lost souls out in this world that need to come to a saving knowledge of Christ
Jesus. We must achieve these crucial and essential missions for Christ without
murmuring, quarreling, or complaining; we must do it vibrantly, passionately,
and enthusiastically.
There are some very valuable
and notable inquiries we must examine our walk with Christ with. Is there a
blemish or something disgraceful in our testimony the lost people in our sphere
of influence can use as an excuse not to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior?
