Amos 5:14 Seek
good, not evil, that you may live. Then the Lord God Almighty
will be with you, just as you say he is.
Many
people, including Christians, claim that God is on their side. However, there is
a more relevant question: Are we on God's side? That's established more by what
we pursue and seek rather than what we think and speak. God wishes to be with
us, but he will not forfeit his character to extend us substandard grace, a
grace that does not call for us to be like him. He's looking for believers who
put their uprightness where their mouths are.
People
who genuinely desire to find God can find Him if they are willing to see Him in
every aspect of the world's creation. Those with a confident and constructive
preference can come to know God, have the glory of God in view, and have the
satisfaction that arises from setting God as their aspiration. In people that
live a life that has immortality or corruption at its core, God is detached and
removed from their entire being. There are only two options when it comes to
having a heart for God: a positive or negative desire to want to know and
follow Him. God will bestow eternal life on all that measure up to His complete
and supreme righteousness. The problem is there has never been or will ever be
a human being that can measure up to God's standard of righteousness (Romans
3:10 & 3:20). There is not one person that has ever lived, living now or
ever living in the future that will live up the unequivocal nature of who God
is. God is perfect himself, and he demands perfection in all of us.
Since
we are all equally powerless and inept in approaching God with human
accomplishments, the only way any of us will ever be in the presence of God is
through the grace and mercy of Christ Jesus, who paid the ultimate price for
the sins of all humankind. Jesus's death on the Cross clearly demonstrates the
Love of God for all people. God's love functions notwithstanding human works or
deeds. Christ's death on the Cross profits sinners through a sacrifice God offers.
God displays and exhibits His love to the "feeble,"
"corrupt," "sinners," and "adversaries." It is
manifestly clear that there is no qualification in God's love; God will not
leave one person out of His love. There is no prior love on our part, God loves
all people before anyone makes any movement toward Him.
