Titus 1:2-3 in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, and which now at his appointed season he has brought to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior.
The Holy Word of God in its fullness is Christ Jesus; He is
the light that illuminates this divine organization and arrangement. He is the
spring and source of the water of life by which, when consumed, one will never
again thirst. Every principle and creed draws its affluence and element from
who He is, the Lord and Savior of the world, the promised Messiah. All the
power within the pages of this Godly work gets its force from His creation. The
thousands of promises fashioned from the inspired writing of the apostles,
prophets, and other writers commissioned by Almighty God get their
melodiousness and harmony from the great Love of our Lord and Savior,
unconditional, absolute, and unrestricted.
Too often, the Bible is read, searched, and scrutinized
with little intent of acquiring a spiritual wealth that can come from no other
source. We might read and study it without a realization of its inspired
record. We could spend untold hours in the beauty of its unmatched literature;
the antiquity and historical aspects might trill us beyond imagination. The
poetic part of its many parables and sonnets might seduce us into a state of
fascination or captivation. Some read only a few chosen passages when Satan
brings about a state of discouragement or disillusionment because it makes them
feel good; in this case, the Bible is the pacifier of an infant Christian.
The Bible is God speaking to us in a language that we can
understand, and it is the Holy Spirit of God leading us into a path of the
righteousness of Christ Jesus, not the Bible itself. The Bible is the
instrument God uses to allow us to be more receptive to the leading, guidance,
and direction of the indwelling Holy Spirit. There are spiritual images we can
only conceive by poetic language, but if we focus on poetry and prose, we will
miss God's message. Christ Jesus is letting us know that by telling His
apostles to understand His parables (Matthew 13:13-23) better.
The words in the pages of the Bible hold the plan of
Salvation, God’s master plan. Paul made it clear that the only way to
understand and comprehend the meaning and message of its content was through
the indwelling of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:14). Once we accept Christ
Jesus as our Lord and Savior, place our faith and trust in Him for our Eternal
Life, we become born again, washed in the blood saved believers and nothing can
take that from us. If we, as saved believers, do not take the time to read and
study the Bible and learn as many of the concepts as God will lead us, we will
still end up in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. The only
difference is that Bible study has become a way of life for some people, and
others set it by the wayside. The trip for the faithful Bible study group will
be a first-class ride, and for those who do not prioritize Bible study, it will
be flying in the economy coach section.
