Romans 11:12 But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their full inclusion bring!
Contrary to some fringe beliefs in the world today, God has
not turned His back on His chosen people, Israel, and the church has not
replaced Israel in God's grand plan for this world.
If there is any shadow of a doubt of the truth of this part
of God's plan of salvation, three chapters in Paul's letter to the Roman
Christians speak of the history (Chap 9), their position today (Chap 10), and
the plans God has for his chosen people, Israel (Chap 10). Because of their
pridefulness, rebellion, and waywardness, God has set aside his chosen people
for a season. This plan of God was due to their rejection of the coming of the
promised Messiah, first promised in the garden of Eden (Genis 3:15) and
promised hundreds of times in God's Word, along with their disbelief and
apostasy.
Nevertheless, this terrible loss of God's people, Israel,
became a magnificent gain for the Gentiles. God has offered redemption to all
people, regardless of race, creed, or national origin. The people of Israel
most certainly did break their covenant with God by rejecting the true promised
Messiah and failed in the good works God had planned for them to do, but this
significant failure resulted in great blessings for the rest of the world.
Israel still lives with a spirit of inaction,
unproductivity, and self-inflicted blindness. This rejection of Jesus as the
promised Messiah has and will continue throughout the Church Age. As a result
of this rejection of Jesus as their promised Messiah, their stupor will
continue during the dispensation of Grace, when God calls all people, Jews, and
Gentiles alike, to accept Jesus as the only way to salvation and eternal life
(John 14:6).
This spirit of apathy among God's chosen people, Israel,
would be an extended period during the 'dispensation of grace' when God would
call out among the Gentiles a people for His name. At the end of the Church
age, all people that have accepted Jesus as the true Messiah and surrendered to
Him, Jews, and Gentiles alike, will be raptured out of this world to be with
Jesus. God's chosen people, Israel, will finally recognize Jesus as the
promised Messiah and welcome Him as their Savior and King.
What a blessing it will be when there will be no separation
of race, national origin, creed or color and we will all be in the presence of
the One that gave the ultimate sacrifice on the “Old Rugged Cross” to pay the
sin debt for us that we could never pay.
