Hebrews 4:16 Let us
then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may
receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Science researchers say that
the Milky Way in which our planet exists is nestled among over one hundred
billion stars. They further claim that there could be more than a hundred
billion other galaxies, billions of which may include other planets. In our
night skies we see the moon and stars that is said to be just a drop in the
bucket in the vastness we call the universe. I do not know how accurate these
figures are, it could be just estimates from folks that study that branch of
science. It is somewhat mind-blowing to try to imagine the vastness of it all. However,
whatever the true facts of what the vastness of this little ball we exist on is,
one thing we know for sure, it all came about through the Words of almighty God
(Job 37:14).
The incredible part of the
vastness of space is the one that created it; our God (Matthew 28:18) cares
about you and me and will never leave or forsake us. The fact that the most
powerful force in the universe cares about every step we take is mind-blowing.
When we are weak, He is strong; when we get to the point when we don't think we
can take another step, He is there to guide our way. Our Verse of the Day tells
us that we can always find love, grace, forgiveness, and mercy at His throne.
The most amazing part of this entire blessing is we cannot do anything to
receive this miracle, and we do not have to do anything. There are some who
foolishly attempt to do some good works or deeds to garner His love and
attention. He has a message for those who try to enter His Kingdom by the back
door of self-fulfillment.
Matthew 7:21-23 21 “Not
everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of
heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many
will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name
and in your name drive out demons and, in your name, perform many miracles?’ Then
I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
One last verse that brings the entire story together.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For
it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not
from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can
boast.
