2 Corinthians 5:14-15 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
His love towards us is the principal inspiration and
incentive for our service to Christ Jesus. Our Lord and Savior’s love towards
us never stops. It does not stop even when we fall out of fellowship. It does
cause him to grieve, but He loves us, nonetheless. The fact that Jesus loved us
enough to sacrifice His life on the Cross should be the utmost motivational
drive for our service to Him. If we accept and believe what Christ did for us
as his followers and believers, it will compel or motivate us to serve Him with
our hearts, souls, bodies, and minds. Our surrender to Christ Jesus is
transformative. It will hold us in His grip; the powerful influence of His
love, grace, and mercy will create a desire to follow and serve Him that Hell
itself cannot tear asunder.
The miracle and love Christ Jesus has for humanity will
never end (Romans 8:35-39). The Love of Christ for all people is unconditional,
and He gave His life on the Cross so that all might come to the saving grace
that opens the gate of eternal life. His sacrifice on the hill of Calvary freed
us from any power that Satan might have that would hinder our fellowship with
him. The foremost and overriding influence of the priority on our lives as
Christians should be Jesus’ love for us and his self-sacrificing work on our
behalf on the Cross.
The foremost inspiration for our service to God and leading
others to the knowledge Christ is His love for his followers. His love for us stimulates
and encourages us to surrender our time, talent, and treasure for Him. His love
for us stems from His pure grace. We cannot earn His love, but He gave it to us
anyway. This kind of desire is no emotional drive, the love Jesus shows towards
us will keep us in his grip, without any reservations.
Christian ministry should be structured around the message,
not by any other outside stimulus or inspiration (Colossians 1:18). Pastors must accentuate and underscore
evangelism if they truly desire to maintain their ministry in a proper
perspective. When Christians do this, their priorities change from living for
themselves to a completely different objective, Christ Jesus Himself. There is
a dedication beyond self for every believer. Those who choose not to serve as
ambassadors for Christ devour themselves with their cravings and desires. We
must give Jesus the ascendancy.
Christians are under new management. God tends to rearrange
our furniture; He does not play second violin to anyone. The most heartbreaking
thing on the earth is a lost soul; the second most heartbreaking thing is a Christian
life that is wasted.
