Genesis 1:27-28 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
What is the Bible all about? God desires to glorify Himself
by blessing humankind. A young boy burst into the living room and told his
father, "I know what the Bible means!" His father smiled and replied,
"What do you mean, you 'know' what the Bible means?" His son replied,
"I do know!" "Okay," said the father, "Tell me what
the Bible means." "It's easy, Daddy. It stands for 'Basic Information
Before Leaving Earth.'"
We must be fruitful or creative since God created us in His
image. This message from God is sometimes known as the "creation
mandate" or "cultural mandate." God brought into being a
flawless creation and an ideal platform and created humanity to continue the
creation project. Remarkably, God trusts us to carry out this extraordinary
task of building on this earth he has bestowed upon us. Through the work of
humanity, God brings forth food and drink, along with all products and services,
knowledge, splendor, institutes, societies, growth, health, and praise and
glory to himself.
A Family psychologist asked a mother, "Which of your
five children do you love the most?" The mother said, "I love all my
children the same." The psychologist asked again, "No, Mam, all your
children are different from each other, and you surely must love one of them
more than the others." Then the mother responded, "Well, that
depends. When one of my children is sick, I love that one the most. When one of
them is hurt, I love that one the most. When one of them is alone, I love that
one the most. And when one of my children has been bad, I love that one the
most."
What a difference we could make in this world if we could
comprehend how much God loves us and undergo God's love with a trusting faith
in praising our Creator. All of us could praise God more if we'd become like
little children in the sincerity of our faith. Many humans find themselves in a
trap that places the most value on what one has or can do. Moreover, our prayer
life also reflects our requests for more significant activity. How often do we
sit and worship God with no agenda other than pure praise?
