Job 11:7 Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty?
One thrill of riding a Roller
Coaster is the joy of not being in control of the ride. Some drops seem never
to end, and sharp, severe turns make us feel like we will fly out of the frame.
During the ride, it will seem like it will never end; however, in an instant,
the ride is over. Comparably, life is like that, in that there will always be
ups and downs along with unexpected and uncontrollable turns that seem like we
are flying off the rails. Furthermore, although sometimes, during these dark
valley experiences, time stands still, then before we know it, we have
grandkids who have children, and we wonder how this happens so fast.
The only reasonable choice to
prepare ourselves for the inevitable end of our journey is to surrender
ourselves to God and allow the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and control our
every step in this earthly existence. If we allow God to have control, he will
give us the direction to keep us from flying off the rails. We must also learn
to slow down and enjoy our journey. If we surrender to God, he will prepare us
to comprehend our trip, enjoy its most significant parts, and endure the more
unpleasant roads we must navigate.
We did not conceive or create
the ride; consequently, we cannot manage its design or function. However, we
can make choices to control our perception during the ride. Surveillance is a
pathway of preparation; it creates awareness, setting the standard of
appreciation and recognition within us. Sometimes, we do not know precisely
where we are or what is coming next; however, we do know God is in control and
the ultimate creator of our ride.
Suppose we cloak our hearts,
minds, and souls around the significance of the ride, comprehending the
extraordinary, fantastic investment God makes to teach and groom us for
persistent joy. In that case, God will free us from becoming lost in every
loop. The ups and downs of life are occasions to explore the immeasurable
depths of God’s love and wisdom.
