Jude 1:24-25 To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy, to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore!
The short book of Jude provides us with a constellation of
biblical truths. Our minds are directed first to the many blessings God has
bestowed upon everyone who calls him their savior. He prevents us from falling
into the many traps and snares of Satan and presents us before our Father in
Heaven. Jude not only presents our savior to us but shows us how it is possible
for all who accept Him to spend eternity in a glorious place called heaven with
God. As we dig deeper into the writings of Jude, he draws us to the description
of our Lord and Savior, the only God living in glory, majesty, and power.
God is the authority communicated to us through Jesus, who
existed before all ages, is alive now, and will always be. Our blessings as
God's children are incredible, but that is because our God is beyond amazing;
he is gloriously extraordinary, wonderfully gracious, and indescribably holy.
Our words cannot do him justice, and our brightest insights cannot comprehend
his glory. Yet despite his grandeur, God loves you and me in our finite and
flawed mortality.
When we fully surrender to Christ, His Spirit reigns
supremely in us, and He will intercede for us before the Father. Jude exhorts God the Son as the source of
Salvation, the one who can keep and deliver us into eternal life. In this verse
of Scripture, Jude exhorts Jesus Christ as the instrument by which God provides
Salvation and deliverance into His kingdom. Jude elevates and worships the
Triune God here and encourages those he writes also to praise Him!
The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three in one. We may
never fully understand and comprehend this concept, but it is evident
throughout Scripture. This letter from Jude warns of evil and sinful people
trying to destroy this fellowship! Jude warns these believers to see these
people for who they are and to avoid them because they would harm their
fellowship! False teachers will come, but we must be vigilant in remaining pure
in our walk and merciful and loving enough to reach out to those who are weak
and lost. Jude's letter was food for the spirit of the followers of Christ on
the day he penned it and a great letter for the church today!
