Bible Verse of the Day Monday March 22nd 2021

Luke 12:6-7 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

The Roman coin, the assarion or the cent or penny, was worth approximately one-sixteenth of a denarius, which (the denarius) was considered a day’s wage (Matthew 10:29). These two illustrations that Jesus used in this writing were to teach the disciples, then and now, that He is aware of all things. Since He cares about the things that the world sees as inconsequential or trivial, He cares much more for His children. The average person has approximately 120,000 hairs on their head, which indicates the most extreme detail that God sees in us, and the extent to which He bestows is love and care for people.

There is an old parable of two birds, a Cardinal, and a Raven, perched on a phone line above a busy city street. The Cardinal says to the Raven: “why do these humans run around so fast and worry so?” The Raven replies: “they must not have a Heavenly Father that cares for them as we do” (Luke 12:24-28). God provides for the birds of the air and the animals of the field through His great love. God displays this love by supplying every one of these creatures with its own space and place. Our Lord and Savior wants us to know just how special we are to Him and how much He loves us; consequently, he teaches us using these examples and then demonstrates the greatest love the world has ever seen, on the Cross of Calvary.

We will go through struggles and be faced with temptation because it is familiar to all people, but God will always provide a way out (1 Corinthians 10:13). God is so far beyond the scope of our apprehensions and tribulations, and the sooner we believe and accept that, the sooner we can have the victory that God wants us to have. Do not worry about tomorrow; today has enough trouble of its own (Matthew 6:34); take it one day at a time. Read and study God’s Word, ask Him to place in your heart and soul a great hunger and thirst for the truth that comes only through the Bible. Develop a strong and consecrated prayer life, and with these two paths, you will find the joy and peace that God wants you to know.

In the mid-twentieth century, Stuart Hamblen composed a song entitled “It is no Secret,” in it, he stated that “it is no secret what God can do, what He’s done for others, He’ll do for you.” Read and study your Bible and see how many people God has brought out of situations that seemed hopeless. Sometimes what we are going through seems bleak, but God cares about us and will never let us down.
