Bible Verse of the Day Thursday June 3rd 2021

1 Corinthians 2:4-5 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom but on God’s power.

Paul left a great example to follow as we spread the Gospel of Christ Jesus to the ends of the earth. He taught us that Jesus is everything, He is our source, our reason for hope. He is the power by which we live an abundant life in God, and we are nothing without Him (John 15:4), but we can do all things through Him (Philippians 4:13). We should never puff ourselves up in any form or fashion that would cause the focus to be on ourselves and not on Jesus. When we teach others about Jesus and His Gospel, we should be doing it because of the love we have for Christ Jesus and others.

It is human nature to want to tell others about all the things we have accomplished and list our successes before telling them about the Gospel, but that's not what Christianity is about. We want others to rely on Jesus and the power of His Word, the Bible. We should never make ourselves the toll booth between Jesus and lost souls. Remembering always, we are nothing more than a bondservant of the Lord, Christ Jesus, a conduit through which His messages flow. It is the glory of Jesus our master we seek, not our recognition. For it is the power of Jesus and Him crucified that saves people's souls and not our words or works. The notion is resounding – all human facility and command in the world cannot motivate one person to trust Christ as their Lord and Savior. The only thing that can penetrate the heart, soul, and spirit of any human being is the Holy Spirit of God. Faith comes from Christ, not from inventiveness, beliefs, viewpoint, or human persuasion.

We should never forget that every soul that we share the Gospel with is precious in the sight of God. The world does not understand or comprehend how and why God does the things He does for His children. The world does not recognize or grasp the truth that God Himself, in a Love the world cannot fathom, left His glory above and took on human form in the person of Jesus. Our Lord and Savior lived a perfect life that we could never live and then shed His perfect, innocent, sinless blood to atone for our sins.

We should always be highly joyful to tell others about the love and Gospel of Christ Jesus. We should also maintain the reflector that shows the Light of Jesus to the world and keep ourselves sensitive to the leading, guiding, and direction of the Holy Spirit of God. We do not have to hold a Ph.D. in Philosophy to win philosophers to Christ Jesus; the only knowledge we must possess is a knowledge of the Gospel of Christ Jesus.
