Romans 16:25 Now to him who is able to establish you in accordance with my gospel, the message I proclaim about Jesus Christ, in keeping with the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past.
This verse contains some self-evident truths concerning Christ Jesus and His gospel that are beyond all questions. Satan will always debate these truths ever since He tried to convince our first earthly parents that God was not telling the truth, and it worked. He will continue with this deception as long as he has free reign. This verse says that these truths are beyond all questions, which means there should be no doubt in our minds about the validity of the Word of God. There will always be controversies and questions that will arise from those without Christ Jesus in their lives. Charles Spurgeon once said: “the most self-evident truth will always find self-evident fools to contradict it.”
The birth, life, crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, and return
of Christ Jesus is and always will be in this life a great mystery. There have
been thousands of attempts to comprehend and understand this mystery, but
everything surrounding the coming of the Promised Messiah cannot be condensed
into human terms. We will never completely understand the fullness of God
through human attempts; if that were possible, God would be created in our
image instead of us being created in His image. There will always be those that
Spurgeon describes as “self-evident fools” that will claim to have discovered
the secrets of this great mystery. That is what our process of sanctification,
our spiritual growth is all about, learning more about God and daily growing in
Christ Jesus. We will never completely understand all of the concepts of this
great mystery in this life. Still, there is coming a day that we will be in His
presence, and our spiritual eyes will be able to comprehend things that our
physical being is not capable of sensing today.
We could never live the perfect life that was required by God to
be allowed into His presence, so He became flesh and dwelt among us and lived a
perfect, sinless life. He did this so that the blood that He shed to cover our
sins would be perfect and without blemish. He came to earth justified in the
spirit so that we might be justified through His sacrifice on the Cross of
Calvary. Jesus is preached to the ends of the earth and believed by many that
choose to follow Him as their Lord and Savior. He was taken up in glory when
His earthly ministry was complete. All people have the opportunity to be with
Him in His Glory by accepting Him as our Lord and Savior and placing our faith
and trust in Him for eternal life, and not on any good works that we might do.
