Luke 12:5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.
Hell is a word used in everyday conversation by millions of people from all walks of
life. Sometimes as a question exclamation, as a descriptive adjective, or at
times as the subject of a sentence.
Most people using the word do not even believe it is a real place. An overwhelming percentage of people accept that Heaven is real but do not acknowledge that Hell exists. Simply because the lion's share of people denies its reality does not make it a fabricated domicile only prevailing in the minds of fiction writers. I talked to a gentleman not too long ago who said he did not believe in organized religion; it still exists.
Good and evil are two opposite influences that co-occur in time and space. We can deny either one of them; however, they are both real and constant. Evil occurs naturally, not requiring much effort, good on the other hand, it occurs only when the righteousness of Christ Jesus enters a lost soul, and by Grace through faith is adopted into the family of God. In Genesis 3:22a, we see that God placed in Adam an explicit knowledge of the difference between good and evil passed down from generation to generation, through all the ages.
Satan will fill our minds and hearts with evil thoughts without ceasing. We will never be strong enough to fight off these attacks on our own, and that is why we must have the Holy Spirit of God dwelling within our hearts to counter these strikes.
Hell is a real place; the eternal fires spoken of by Christ are burning and will be ablaze for eternity. Do not let Satan fool you into thinking Hell does not exist; he will lull you into a false sense of security. The devil will convince you that how you live in this life has nothing to do with any future life. The evil one and his followers will not tell you that Christ Jesus does not exist; they know Jesus is the King of Kings and The Lord of Lords (James 2:19).
The greatest lie that the Father of Lies, Satan, will tell you is that you have plenty of time. Don't worry about accepting Christ right now; you are young and have a lot of living to do. Maybe when you are older and have experienced all you feel you must go through, you will think about serving Christ. Listen to God; He is telling you the truth. Jesus is the only way to the Father; good deeds, church affiliation, or living a decent life will not get you into Heaven. God has promised forgiveness for our sins, but He has not promised us tomorrow to come to Him and ask forgiveness.
There is no halfway house in the next life; there are only two options, Heaven or Hell. If by faith through Grace you have accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior. If the Lamb's blood has washed away your sins, and your name is in the Book of Life, you are Heaven bound. If, on the other hand, you depend on something else for your salvation, not wanting to be a part of the ministry of Christ Jesus, a part of His royal family, then you are on your way to Hell.
There is a tremendous gap between the two; there are no connecting devices that will allow a person once in Hell to move to Heaven. Once you are in the Lake of Eternal Fire, there is no coming back.
Make sure that you are sure, that you are confident, that you have been saved. God offers us the greatest gift ever known to humankind, eternal life (Romans 6:23b). If you are saved, then share that gift with all that do not know Christ Jesus. We have something more valuable than all the silver and gold; that is the message of the good news of the gospel of Christ Jesus. Unless Christians share with the World around us the Gospel of Christ Jesus, there will be no other way for those living in darkness to experience the light of Christ Jesus. Jesus is the light of the World, but we are to be His reflectors of that great light.
