Bible Verse of the Day Friday October 22th 2021

2 Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

The knowledge of God, our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus spoke of here in this verse of scripture is much more than just a passing knowledge, it is a deeper and more intense personal acquaintance. Our faith that leads to our salvation has its foundation in knowing the truth of God’s Word. Only that will set us free from the bonds and chains of slavery to sin and Satan (John 8:32). Contrary to worldly popular belief, Christianity is not a mystical based conviction or creed. It is an objective, historically revealed, and rational truth from God meant to be comprehended and believed. The closer and more personal our relationship are with our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, the deeper the grace and peace we experience will be in our everyday walk.

God’s grand and all-encompassing plan that He alone has devised includes the strength and involvement of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus in our everyday lives. It would take a perfect plan that only one could devise and carry out so that imperfect creatures could operate and behave. That plan is His love and grace poured down upon the unearned and undeserved creatures like you and me. The peace of God that is without human comprehension always comes after grace. We will never be able to experience the peace that can come only from God without first comprehending and grasping the grace of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. This can only be possible with an in-depth study of God’s Holy Word, a consecrated prayer life, and service to God and others. Made possible by a total and complete surrender to God and turning our backs on the ways of the world. We can draw on the endless resources of God when we seek after the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus; when we do that, it opens the treasure house of the love and grace of God. God’s love and grace in our lives cannot grow void of knowledge of the truth of God; there is no replacement for the study of God’s Word.

The volume and expanse of the grace and peace of God that we can know and experience in this life are unequivocally linked to and correlated with our knowledge of God and His Holy Word, which is our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus (John 1:1 & 14). In our natural state, we simply are not drawn or inclined towards grace and peace; we are too busy attempting to prove ourselves. The false sense of self-worth or self- significance will not lead to a life of peace; on the contrary, it will most definitely lead to a life of stress, shame, and guilt. The ones that spend time every day in God’s Holy Word and prayer will discover a gateway to the light for their pathways and living water to refresh the soul.
