Bible Verse of the Day Saturday November 27th 2021

Psalms 139:9-10 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

To rise on the wings of the dawn could be referring to the expanse and speed of the morning light as it wakes up the day. The speed of light is, in some estimations, almost 3 million miles per second; some say it is somewhat less, and some say it is even faster. No matter what the actual speed is, it is so fast that it boggles the human mind. Still, it can’t outrun the manifestation and comprehension of God.

David is saying that even if he rode at supersonic speeds on the wings of the morning light, to a location where all the sailors that ever navigated the seven seas had not discovered, it would not be out of the reach of God. Throughout the Bible, there have been those who tried to run or hide from God. We think of Adam and Eve that heard God walking in the Garden and tried to hide from Him because they had been somewhere they were not supposed to be. We also remember Jonah, that tried to hide from God on a far side of the sea. In both cases, God was there and guided each one of these mentioned back to Himself.

This verse speaks of the Omnipresence of God that there is no place, either physical or spiritual, that we would be out of the reach of His mighty right hand. God’s presence in our lives is not one of an observer or bystander. He is always where we are and ready to lead, guide, and direct us, no matter where that is.

As followers and believers in Christ Jesus, we can experience and undergo great comfort because it matters not where we find ourselves, from the rocking of the cradle to the lowering into the grave; our Lord and Savior is always there. Through the power and indwelling of His Holy Spirit, He will always be ready, willing, and able to guide, direct, and sustain us in all things.

Even when we find ourselves in certain places that we know we should not be, involved in things we know we should stay away from, Christ Jesus is always there. His grace and mercy have a reach, unfamiliar and mysterious to mere humans. We can always go to God in repentance and know that He will continually forgive us, and we are never alone (1 John 1:9).
