Bible Verse of the Day Saturday January 8th 2022

John 14:16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—

This day could be a time bursting with blessings and miracles if we remain filled with the indwelling of God’s Holy Spirit. It would be impossible to measure the magnitude of the consecration that our lives might know through the Holy Spirit. The blessings that come along with God’s guiding influence are numerous. Security, life, harmony, light, concentration, guidance, and power are just a few of the abundant sanctifying functions of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Much like a sacred anointing of oil, God sets His children apart for the mission He has planned for our lives.

Human or animal life would cease to exist on our planet without life-giving water. So likewise, our spiritual lives could not exist without the miracle of the Water of Life. God blessed the Apostle John with a vision of that water as it flows from His throne, through Christ Jesus, administered by His Holy Spirit (Revelation 22:1). In the same regard, life as we know it would cease to exist without the light from the sun. Our spiritual life would wither away on the vine without the “Son, the Light of the World,” our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus (John 8:12).

All Children of God must have a close personal relationship with God through Christ Jesus. When Jesus ascended back to His heavenly glory, He promised that He would send the comforter, one who would be with us continually, leading us in every step that we take. The Holy Spirit is of the God Head and represents the Father and the Son. We, as humans, are incredibly short-sighted, where God can see the beginning and the end. We know not what tomorrow might bring, but God does. God can see our paths ahead throughout our lives. This intersection is where faith comes into view. Since we cannot see all of the pitfalls we will encounter, we must put our faith in the leading, guiding, and direction of The Holy Spirit. It is much like driving on a dark highway. Our headlights do not show us the entire trip but only a few yards in front of us. God's Holy Spirit does not give us the roadmap for the rest of our lives, but He does lead us in our daily walk. We put our faith in the short distances our car headlights show us compared to the long haul. In the same manner, we should keep our faith in the daily leading, guiding, and direction of the Holy Spirit, as He leads us in our daily walks of life.
