Philippians 1:3-6 I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Many of us have
unfinished projects standing by at home awaiting completion. It may be
something we have been putting off for months. But unfortunately, we are
letting the project sit idle, in some cases, even for years. For various
reasons, we have started other projects that we have shelved. Some people will
only do one project at a time and not even consider starting a new project
until the first one sees completion. If you put the people who bank projects
with someone who will only do one at a time, there will likely be some
conflict. The idea behind this message is not to deal with conflicting
personalities but a reminder that God will complete what He has started in
us.
In the Gospel of Luke in the fifteenth chapter (Luke 15:8-10), there is a story of a woman that had ten silver coins and lost one. When she found it, she told all her neighbors and friends that celebrated with her. The 10th verse of that chapter of Luke reminds us that there is a celebration among the Angels of God when one person gets saved.
We, as children of God, are a work in progress. We are a project that God is working on daily and will not be complete until Christ Jesus comes back for all His children. The key to understanding this concept is remembering that God does things in His own time.
The work God does in our lives isn't pleasant all of the time. However, we should remember that anything we face, God will use it to build our faith and reliance on Him and change us to resemble His Son. We may not be dealing with the feeling of dread toward actual abuse; however, we genuinely do have genuine apprehension about losing opportunities. We may not know starvation or living without; however, we do not know challenging times. However, God utilizes all that we face, the great and the awful. He is working in us and will finish His work.
