Hebrews 6:10-12 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end so that what you hope for may be fully realized. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.
Divine justice is the foundation of what God does for believers. God is not in debt to anyone. It is the solid promises of God, not our excellent work, that would make it unrighteous for God to dishonor our service to Him and others. God is justified in dealing with the sins of all people, saved and lost alike (1 John 1:9). We can be assured from the Bible that God will be just in remembering our service to Him and others (1 Thessalonians 1:3). Our love for our fellow humankind is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).
Faith in God will produce the love spoken of in the "fruit of the spirit" verses. The love mentioned in the fruit of the Spirit and the Bible, in general, is not a sentimental feeling, nor does it satisfy any personal glory we might seek. The motivation for authentic Christian love is not to build a reputation for ourselves as a generous giver; it is for God's namesake and His honor and glory. In the original Greek writing of the Book of Hebrews, the eleventh and twelfth verses are one sentence. These verses are a great motivator for us to keep tracking forward in our Christian walk.
There is a massive void between faith and hope. Faith opens the door to trust God in all we do. On the other hand, hope permits us to trust God. Hope maintains us under the difficulties and demands along life's highway (1 Thessalonians 5:8). "Hope" values the anticipation of God's promises. Faith rests on God's integrity to make good on His Word. "What we hope for may be fully realized " (Hebrews 6:11) then signifies the general encouragement arising from maintaining faith in the promises of God. Faith permits us to place our trust in God. Hope supports us under the difficulties and demands along life's highway (1 Thessalonians 5:8). It softens the blows we receive along the rocky byways we something have to navigate,
Lukewarm Christians are problematic; there are too many in need of Christ Jesus in their lives. Attentiveness toward the ways of God will avert monotony and lethargy in the faith of God's people. The absence of spiritual growth comes from a lethargic irrelevance to the spread of the Gospel of Christ Jesus.
In some cases, the fear that God has not remembered our excellent work and service to Him and others stems from our reliance on the responsiveness and glory of other people. It is a matter of fact that people tend to forget good things we do; however, God will never forget.
