Bible Verse of the Day Sunday March 27th 2022

Hebrews 1:7-8 In speaking of the angels, he says, He makes his angels spirits, and his servant's flames of fire. But about the Son, he says, “Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.

Angels are changeable and fluctuate in the service that God calls them to do. While they are supernatural beings, God created them to serve and worship Him. Angels are alterable, but the Son is unalterable. Angels are in constant flux and ephemeral like flames of fire and are created beings. The text in this verse of scripture portrays the nature and purpose of God’s created angels. When the psalmist describes the “Son,” he states that the Son is eternal and stands above all created beings, including Angels. The “Son” towers above any part of the created order since He is the divine mechanism of creation itself; the “Son’ is the architect of all creation in all the earth. The “Son” is eternal with no beginning and no end.

The Father bestows the provenance of “God” to the Son, He accredited the Son as God and addressed the Son as “God.” The Father acknowledged the Son to be Almighty God. This accreditation points to the absolute authority of the Son. Created Angels will bow down in worship and praise when the Son is enthroned as the King of Kings. There is a day coming, a glorious time that all that trust Christ Jesus as their Savior will live in a world without sin and the constant temptations of Satan (1 John 3:8; Hebrews 2:14).

It is essential to understand that the Father speaks of the deity of the Son. This declaration is possibly one of the most unequivocal and forceful statements in the Word of God concerning the Son being God. The testimony of the Father closely mirrors the statements made by the Son during His earthly ministry (John 5:18; 10:30 & 33). Jesus’ closest followers, the Apostles, affirmed the deity of Christ Jesus (1 John 5:20). The Apostle Paul also wrote much concerning the deity of the Son.  (Romans 9:5; 1 Timothy 3:16; Titus 2:13).

When this life is over, and we are in the paradisical state that God has planned for his children, the Son will rule with approachable authority and justice. Today we are in a world where injustice is the norm; however, the day will come that Christ Jesus, the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords will set all the injustices straight. To God be the Glory forever and ever.
