Zephaniah
3:17 The Lord your God is
with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke
you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
This
scripture verse certainly brings comfort and reassurance as we comprehend that
God is always nearby. Our Lord is an Immense Combatant in the battles we fight
against Satan daily. God takes joy in all of His Children and will no longer
rebuke saved believers. It is difficult to imagine, but God delights in us with
singing. It might be difficult to imagine God singing, but He has a host of
angels in numbers human minds can't conceive, to sing praises to His Name.
When
the storms of life thunder against us, we can remember the words in this verse
and find comfort and peace. God reminds us with His singing, of the great
salvation he brought to us through Christ Jesus. We sometimes forget about the
joy God has for us and believe that He is displeased with us. Imagine the great
Jehovah singing! Is it imaginable to envision the creator of heaven and earth
breaking into a song? Father God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit join together in
a song for saved believers. God's joy is so immense in His love for His
children that the universe pauses in astonishment as He chants love hymns.
Christ
is the supplier for our needs, the therapy for our fears, the treatment for our
problems, and the counterpoison for our sin. He is our armament and guardian,
and as such, He is our victorious warrior. He is our triumphant Savior who provides
our salvation. God does not condemn us, but He delights to bring us to
salvation, and He pours out to us eternal life and life more abundantly with
exultant gladness upon all who trust in His name.
The
Lord sings songs of joy over all that believe in Him, and He takes joyful
delight in those who trust His word and abide in His love. Therefore, since we
know that God sings songs of joy, should we not follow His example and hold our
hearts and souls up to Him to praise and worship His holy name. God wishes for
all His children to seek Him; come to Him; draw near to Him; rest in Him, and
abide in His truth, for He is the God of peace, and He is a peace that passes
all understanding. He longs to blanket His love, joy, and peace on all who
trust and believe in His holy Word. Therefore, God rejoices over His followers
and believers with song and delight.
