Proverbs 1:29-31 since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the LORD. Since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.
It is hard to imagine someone that hates knowledge, but the knowledge of the truth of the gospel of Christ Jesus can offend the world. Someone that is of the world would have their pride bruised by finding out that there is no way they can be in control. When they realize that Satan will control everyone who has not humbled themselves before Christ and put their faith in Him, the natural worldly instinct would be to hate that knowledge. The fear of God is the starting point for all wisdom and knowledge and the foolish loath wisdom and truth (Proverbs 1:7; Job 28:28; Psalm 111:10; Proverbs 9:10). The reason that the foolish hate knowledge is that its light exposes their foolhardiness and indiscretions, and they simply cannot stand to learn what they cannot bear to accept.
The sentence for the fool-hearted that are rebellious against the truth of the Gospel and shun God as if He does not exist has already been pronounced, it is the second death (Revelation 21:8, 2:11, 20:6; and 20:14). All people are offered the benefits of the grace and mercy of God, but when one does not love the knowledge of the truth that Christ Jesus has to offer, the alternative is hate. Consequently, they are going to fall victim to God’s wrath and curse (Galatians 3:13).
The truth haters will be filled with the consequences of their recklessness and idiocy. The ride will seem like things are going their way for a short while, but the day will come that they will be filled with the terror and horror that they feared the most. (Matthew 7:21 & 23).
Rebellion against God and the truth of the gospel of Christ Jesus always produces evil ways, and a great deal of the time it becomes its own depraved chastisement and retribution. When we know that there is a gracious and generous God in heaven that is ready to accept us into His royal family, as His children and heirs with Christ Jesus to the kingdom (Romans 8:17; Matthew 25:34; Galatians 3:29; Colossians 1:12 & 3:24), what other logical and reasonable path could we choose to walk on. The alternative might seem more glamorous and fashionable in the short run, but the consequences of choosing to hate over the love of God will end in total destruction and an eternity apart from God. Our Lord and Savior, the father of justice and mercy is ready to save everyone through His grace, He wants everyone to come to a saving knowledge of the truth of the gospel of Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:3-4).
