Bible Verse of the Day Tuesday May 3rd 2022

John 3:31-32 The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all. He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony.

John aspired to let all that read this know that Jesus was different from all others because He came from heaven. It wasn't that He was only an extraordinarily spiritual, exemplary, or wise man; he was God in the flesh. Therefore, Jesus did not only differ from all others, He is also greater than all others. For example, if we seek information on some specific family, we will only receive firsthand information from a family member. Similarly, if we search for information on what heaven is like, the only source we can trust is the Son of God. In other words, finding details about heaven can only come from one that has come from heaven.

John precisely predicted that there would be many who rejected Jesus throughout His ministry. Jesus descended from heaven to earth to bring the truth to a lost world, but the world rejected Him then, and sadly many reject Him today. Even though many today witnesses the truth of God's Word, Satan has blinded many to the truth and convinced them to believe His lies.

John's point was that relatively none were willing to accept it, relative to the masses of people that came out to hear Jesus speak. Relative to the people of the Nation of Israel and all humans in general. The ones that did receive Jesus' message were so few that it brought a sense of sadness to John's heart to consider that none believed in him. Accepting that Jesus was God and that all that He preached was from God is to testify that Christ Jesus is the only way to salvation. Alternately, when one rejects the truth of the Word of God, they are, in essence, calling God a liar (John 3:33;1 John 1:10; 1 John 5:10).

When we truly believe in Jesus, we have set our assurance to the truth of His testimony, which is the revelation from God. We will then have certified that we believe in God as accurate. Furthermore, we have testified to the world that Jesus is the only way to heaven and eternal life.
