Bible Verse of the Day Wednesday May 4th, 2022

Acts 4:19-20 19 But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! 20 As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

We can't suppress what we've undergone in Christ Jesus. We cannot neglect to tell all we come in contact with about what Jesus has done in our lives. Not one King or any earthly ruler has succeeded in stopping the Word of God from being shared by His witnesses. Sharing the Gospel is a reaction to the surplus of our encounters with Christ and our relationship with Him. When we share our faith with someone, rejection is a possibility, as is ridicule, but those that hear the gospel can't ever totally forget it. The word of God shared with someone will take root in their lives, even if it is unbeknownst to them at that moment in time. Those who have experienced God's amazing work in our lives should never keep it to ourselves; we must share it.

Peter and John would not speak of anything other than what they had learned from Jesus. The compulsion to talk about what they learned from Jesus was not only because of the leading of the Holy Spirit but because it was a command from Jesus (Acts 1:8). Their shared message with the world did not come from them; they relayed it as eyewitnesses.

This writing is about us using Peter and John as an example of our witnessing for Jesus. Every child of God has a witness that needs sharing with this lost and dying world. Every believer in Christ Jesus has had an experience in their life of how God has blessed them immensely. We don’t have enough space on this blog to list all the reasons people come up with for not witnessing. The term "witnessing" sometimes scares people because they believe they don't know what to say. There is no bad witnessing; there is only your witnessing. Witnessing is simple, all we have to do is tell about our experiences and what Jesus has done in our lives. There are two critical questions that we must answer; number one: when was the last time we experienced God in our lives? Number two, when was the last time we told someone about that experience?

Is there a witness for Christ Jesus in the house?
