Psalm 36:9 For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.
Observe what a fountain of
life is God! All insights, from the most elevated holy angel in paradise to the
lowliest creature that dwells on the earth, draws each breath of their survival
from Him. The Bible says, "In Him, we live, and move, and have our
being" (Acts 17:28). But He is more than this to the Body of Christ. He is
the wellspring of love, grace, and mercy. The spirits of the closest followers
of Jesus fill their thirsty souls at the Fountain of the Father. How much do we
long for the complete leading through the indwelling of His Holy Spirit? The
problem is that we sometimes disregard the fact that He is the Fountain of
living waters. We sometimes attempt to move the mountain ourselves instead of
placing our faith in the only one capable of moving mountains. In doing this,
we limit the miracles that He is ready, willing, and able to perform in our
lives.
We place limits on God; we
judge Him by our poor, slender origination of things. We neglect, in our
approaches, that we are coming to the Infinite Fountain. We forget that the
heavier the request we make upon God, the more we will get and that the more we
come to God, the more we are welcome. We sometimes forget that we cannot ask
too much of God. We cannot go to God too often, but we can go to the throne of
God too seldom.
God never lets us down. We
neglect Him, yet He will never forsake us. Not even one of us merits the right
to live on the substance of this world. We only deserve death and Hell. The
primary reason God permits us to live here on His earth directly results from
His love, grace, and mercy. He never expects us to repay Him for anything He
does for us. We do not reimburse Him as we enjoy the light from His sunshine
(Romans 8:32; 1 Corinthians 4:7). Many people have very high IQs; this ability
was not self-made; it came from God. Sometimes we thrive on taking credit for
who we are or what we have accomplished. If we will but take a few moments and
look into God's Word, we will see that we have our being in God's love, grace,
and mercy. Any success or richness we accumulate comes directly from God.
