Psalm 130:7 Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption.
The question we must
face every day is, what do we have that is inexhaustible or everlasting? The
answer is, of course, not a thing except God's unfailing Love. He still loves
us even when we let Him down, hurt, offend, or rebel against him. Although we
sin against Him every day of our lives, His Love for us will never cease. Even
though we are all sinners, and none possess any righteousness whatsoever, God
sent His Son Jesus to emancipate us from death and sin (Romans 3:10, 23; Romans
5:8).
The Greek word for redemption is apolutrosis (Strongs 629), which means a release effected by ransom payment. Jesus has ransomed us from the slave market of sin and set us free from Satan's bondage and evil. As born again, washed in the blood, saved believers in Christ Jesus, we possess redemption and liberation from Satan's evil clutches. People do not go to Hell because of their sins, big or small. People go the Hell because they reject the one that has paid the ransom for their sins (Revelation 5:8-10; Hebrews 9:22).
We do not have to appeal to God to take our sins away. Jesus has taken away our sins, whether we are Christians or non-Christians. The question is: do we believe that the price for our sins was paid for on the Cross and are we willing to accept the forgiveness of God (Romans 3:24; Galatians 3:13; Hebrews 9:12; 1 Peter 1:18-19). There cannot be too much made of the fact that Christ Jesus shed His innocent, perfect blood and offered a blanket pardon for everyone that believes in Him (John 3:16).
Christians frequently experience issues tolerating how they are entirely, openly, and everlastingly forgiven. We don't merit pardoning, yet it is free for any who will acknowledge it with belief and acceptance in Christ Jesus as our Savior. Salvation is complete; there is no good work that we can do to get it. Our salvation was given openly by Christ Jesus. Every Christian has a pardon for their sins for eternity; there are no exceptions.
There is one rock-solid assurance we can all depend on every day. That is, we can trust our life, now and for eternity, in God's unfailing Love.
