1 John 2:27 As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit —just as it has taught you, remain in him.
The great news from this verse is that we are not only anointed and cleansed by the Holy Spirit at our conversion, but we are filled with His Holy Spirit to lead, guide and direct our every step. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit that every child of God enjoys leads us to the truth about Christ Jesus and His gospel. Which in turn helps us to be able to recognize any false gospel that comes our way.
The ones that are charged with being able to recognize counterfeit money are trained to know what the real money looks like, and anything away from that would be counterfeit. It is the same with the gospel of Christ Jesus, the more we are familiar with the true gospel the easier it will be to recognize any false gospel or teaching that might come our way. This does not mean that we will never have any questions about the gospel of Christ Jesus, it will be a constant and consistent learning process until God calls us homeward. There is a possibility that we can see with our physical eyes and hear with our physical ears but not comprehend the spiritual things of God
Matthew 13:13-14 This is why I speak to them in parables: "Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand. In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: "’ You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. (Isaiah 6:9)
A human being, no matter how versed they are in the gospel of Christ Jesus, are only instruments of God. They will never take the place or be in contradiction of His Holy Spirit. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit will serve to protect us against any errors or perverted explanations of the Word of God by false teachers. God’s Holy Spirit will light the path of our learning the Word of God, He will empower the child of God to be able to understand what they read in the Bible. There have been some that determine from this verse that they do not need human teachers to teach them the Bible. This is not the case; God uses humans to help other humans learn more about His Word. He used the Apostle John and the other writers of the New Testament to teach their readers. Every single child of God, followers, and believers in Christ Jesus needs the Holy Spirit of God to allow them to understand and comprehend the divine truth of His Holy Word (1 Corinthians 2:10-12).
