Bible Verse of the Day Thursday August 11th, 2022

Psalm 25:14-15 The LORD confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them. My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare.

Psalm 25 is a Psalm of David, one of the 73 Psalms he wrote. In this Psalm, David seems to be in trouble or distress; we do not know the exact period; David was very often in some form of danger.

There is a personal communication between God and His children: prayer, bible study, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. God wants his children to know what He has to say about every aspect of life, and He makes that known through His Holy Word. God wants to make his home with His Children (John 14:23) and, through His Holy Spirit, teach us about all things (John 14:26).

"My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare." This message is a reminder that David wrote this Psalm in a time of trial and tribulation for himself. David must have felt that his enemy's snare had entrapped him. Yet, we see David fixed in his trust and faith in God, and he is persistent and perpetual in his expectation of God's blessing and guidance. Coupled with his look of faith, love, and hope, he maintains an obedient walk of service to God.

There are times that Christ Jesus will keep us from getting trapped in one of Satan's snares; on the other hand, sometimes, he will let us fall into one of these snares for our good and His glory. But he will always rescue us from any fall we might take.

Our enemy, Satan, will set snares for us every day of our lives, and at times we might temporarily get caught in one of those traps. The only way not to be permanently entrapped by one of these evil snares is to keep our eyes and hearts focused on our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. As the old gospel song states, "turn your eyes upon Jesus, and the things of this world will grow strangely dim."

As disciples of Christ Jesus, we are not of this world, although we must live in this world. So, when the things of this earth get to the point that we feel like we can no longer bear this heavy load, all we have to do is turn our focus heavenward and keep our eyes and hearts always on the Lord. Because He will always release our feet from any snare in which we find ourselves trapped.
