Isaiah 40:29-31 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
It is an easy road we navigate when we find ourselves running and not getting weary in our service to God. It is smooth sailing when we are following the will of God for our lives, and the waters resemble that of smooth glass. It is certainly not challenging to be a firm believer and follower of Christ Jesus when we are soaring on eagles' wings. But none the less, it is not an easy task to remain firm in our commitments to God when we are limping along and just trying to keep ourselves upright. It could be during a time of the loss of our employment, the death of someone close to us, or Satan is just tugging extra hard at the thorn in our side.
In
those moments of absolute helplessness, feebleness, and brokenness, our Lord
and Savior Christ Jesus will seem closer to us and more present in our lives.
So then, when we come under attack from Satan, and the typical challenges of
everyday life seem like more than we can bear, we can be assured that Jesus is
not far off. He is beside us, and we will never have to take one step without
His mighty hand lifting us upward and onward.
It
is an undependable errand to place any decision we must make on our feelings
because they are in a constant state of uncertainty. Moreover, they can be
illogical and unreasonable at the best of times. Therefore, we should base any
decision we make on biblical truth, which is always reliable and rock solid.
Always trust and believe that the Holy Spirit of God is always with us,
leading, guiding, and directing our every step, even when it seems complicated
just to put one foot in front of another.
Evil
will never be in short supply; these are evil spirits that are lurking around
every corner to discredit the great and wonderful promises made to us by God.
This lie is what Satan told Eve, He denied God in her eyes, and she fell into
his snare. Sometimes when these difficulties and hardships befall us, we are
tempted to ask God why I am going through this adversity and suffering.
However, we should not ask God why; we should ask Him how. How can I respond to
this difficulty or suffering? God will use any problem we face to draw us
closer to Him, thus accomplishing the mission He has laid out for our lives.
