Hebrews 3:2 He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house.
As
developing children of God, we are to meditate on Jesus and contemplate on what
He has done and continues to do for us daily. All called to be sons and
daughters of God are encouraged to walk daily with Christ Jesus. In His Holy
name, all saved believers declare in our hearts and confess with our mouths
that Christ Jesus is the only way to salvation. Jesus is the rock of our
salvation, upon which we are to build our lives and strive to be more like him for
as long as we set our feet on God's green earth. We will never attain that
lofty goal here in this earthly life, but day by day, we surrender ourselves to
Christ.
This
scripture verse contrasts how he, the Godman, was faithful to the mission God
sent him on, just as Moses was faithful in his task of freeing the Hebrew
people and leading them to the promised land (Numbers 12:7). The Hebrew people
held Moses in high esteem; it is challenging for Christians down through the
ages to comprehend just how high of an honor he had. However, Moses and Christ
Jesus were different in their positions in God. It can be compared, however, to
the servant and son relationship in that the son has greater access to the
master than the servant. Moses was always faithful in God's house, whereas
Christ Jesus was faithful over the house of God.
Moses
displayed remarkable faith in the calling of God on his life, although at
first, he was not so agreeable to the task God had for him. Christ Jesus
displayed perfect faithfulness, even joyous about going to the Cross (Hebrews
12:2). Comparing Moses' commitment and the dedication of Christ, Jesus is like
a beautiful skyscraper. The builder of any grand building project will always
receive praise and glory for the building. Moses served faithfully in the
tabernacle, the house of God, but Christ Jesus designed the house of God
because He was and is God's house. Therefore, without any reservation, we can
say that God created everything, and Christ Jesus constructed the house of God;
then, the truth can be that Christ Jesus is God.
Let
all that received the call to be sons and daughters of God remain faithful to
our calling, no matter how abundant or minor we or the world see the calling.
