1 Corinthians 2:6 We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.
The
only emphasis and attention of Paul's writing, or his teaching in general, was
Christ Jesus and what He did on the Cross of Calvary. Paul did not utilize
eloquent wording that would have required a person with a Ph.D. in theology to
comprehend; instead, he focused on the simple message of the Gospel. The fact
that he was devoted and steadfast in preaching the pure Gospel, in spirit and
truth, was a clear indication of the Holy Spirit's indwelling that led, guided,
and directed his every step. Paul's heart's deepest desire was that the message
he was sharing with the world was from God, not himself or any other human
being.
This
valid message of the Cross of Calvary made the hearts of many men and women
burn with a desire to know more about God and to have a close personal
relationship with our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. It is the valid message of
the Cross in which God's power lies, leading to salvation for all that
surrender their hearts, minds, bodies, and souls to Christ Jesus. However, the
message of the Cross seems foolish to those without Christ Jesus. In the eyes
of the world: how could such a terrible and horrific symbol of the evil of
human suffering lead to life eternal spent with God? However, in the eyes of
all that place their faith and trust in Christ Jesus and His substitutionary
work on the Cross on our behalf, it is God's magnificent power (1 Corinthians 1:18).
We
live in a pluralistic world where too many people see the truth as relative and
believe there is always more than one truth. Too many in this day in age
acclimate God's Holy Word to preponderant opinions of individuals. This
pretense is lasciviousness in thinking and reasoning, and clearly, one
exchanging the truth for a lie (Romans 1:25).
The
difference between worldly and Godly wisdom is that God's wisdom is blameless,
tender, peace-loving, and impartial, whereas human wisdom always leans towards
self-centeredness. When we utilize Godly Wisdom in our every walk of life, we
absorb divine truth into every fiber of our being. Heavenly wisdom is God's
rationale affecting any situation of a follower and believer in Christ Jesus.
When a disciple of Christ Jesus employs God's wisdom in any encounter, they
will absorb truth into their heart, mind, spirit, and soul. There are no
schools of advanced learning on this planet where someone can find Godly
wisdom. There is only one place where we can discover Godly wisdom: His Holy
Word. Only those with the indwelling of God's Holy Spirit can recognize or
apply God's wisdom. The unbeliever will not be able to discern God's wisdom
because they will consider it foolishness (1 Corinthians 2:14).
