Zechariah 14:9 The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name.
Jesus taught His disciples, and extension, us as his
followers today, to pray for the glorious day that the world would recognize
Jesus as the King of Kings. We yearn for that day when the world will see our
faith as truth and the world will glorify Jesus as He should be. On that day,
in this world of profanity, where using God's name in vain is standard
practice; every knee will bow. Furthermore, every voice will proclaim that
Jesus is not only the only true God, but He will then be without a rival, and
His name is the only name worthy of our reverence, respect, and admiration.
God's Holy Word greatly emphasizes God's ultimateness (1
Corinthians 3:23; 15:18). There are many warnings to the seven churches in
Asia, as recorded in the Book of Revelation, concerning unity among churches
without Godly doctrinal gospel teachings. Sadly, as time marches toward the day
Jesus will come back, too many churches do not pay attention to the warning
Jesus gave to these first-century churches. What is needed today is the unity
of actual Christ-taught gospel teachings among the many churches. Today Satan
has caused much controversy among God's churches; denominationalism is the tool
Satan used to ensure that God's children will never agree on any one truth of
the Gospel. The problem is the world claims that there is more than one truth;
Satan is celebrating because he can keep a distance between all God's churches.
Denominationalism has been with us for so long that most Christians have
accepted it as God's approval.
We live in a day that some call "the silent sky";
however, there is a day when Jesus will assert Himself as sovereign over all
the world's people. God does not assert His rights over the people of the world
today; He gives us all the freedom to live how we want to live; that right came
to us at the ultimate cost, Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary. However,
there is coming a day that will come to an end. As believers, we are not part
of this world; we are ambassadors for Christ to the lost people of this world.
When the Millennium comes, God will assume complete control of this world; He
will then take control of what is rightfully His. It can be no surprise that
the elders from the Book of Revelation bowed down to Him. The heartbeat that we
begin to recognize the sovereign work of God in the world and our own lives,
there will be a desire to worship God come into our hearts that no words can describe.
