Psalms 138:8 The Lord will vindicate me; your love, Lord, endures forever—do not abandon the works of your hands.
God has a function and purpose for each of our lives. The
grandest thing any Christian can do is to discover that purpose and follow
God's will for our lives. When we live to do his will, we will not slip away
from the goal he laid for us. Sometimes, we might drift off course a few
degrees, but if we desire to follow his will, he will lead us back to the
proper bearing he set for us. We can have confidence in Jesus's mission and
trust that he will intercede in whatever storms of life we face.
Although the mission Christ has for each of us may vary in
the mechanics, the foundation of the calling is the same for all of us: to
spread his message of salvation through grace and faith where he has planted
us. One of the best strategies for evangelism today is one-on-one; a great
mission program has been around for many years entitled "won by one."
God has placed certain people in our lives to show them the way to eternal
life. How we live is the best way to let people who do not know Christ as their
lord and Savior know about the saving grace through Jesus. One quality that
Jesus displayed when he was on earth that too many Christians are failing is
humility. Human nature is bent on bragging about all the good things God has
blessed us with, or we have accomplished, which is 180 degrees off the course
Jesus meant for us to steer. If we speak of all the great things we have or
have accomplished in our Christian life, we waste valuable time telling others
about the beautiful gift of eternal life from only one source, Christ
Jesus.
As followers and believers in Christ Jesus, let us remember
that he will never leave or forsake us; he will use us for his purpose. Further,
allow us to remain surrendered entirely to Him so that we may discern what He
intends for our lives so that we might fulfill His plan and purpose. God is
sovereign over every step we take in this life; nothing surprises him. It
matters not whether the situation seems good or bad, simple or complicated,
whether we find ourselves in good health or bad; nothing in this life or the
life to come is out of God's master plan. Contrary to popular belief, there is
no such thing as a coincidence; nothing happens in this life or the life to
come that will ever take God by surprise. Our mission is to surrender our lives
to Christ Jesus and His mission of bringing all people into His fold.
